The Arkin Colony Hotel

We stayed at The Colony Hotel Arkin in Cyprus for Christmas 2024, and it was an amazing experience. The weather was perfect, not cold at all. The hotel staff was incredibly kind and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and of great quality. I loved having breakfast in the mornings and socializing with others. Plus, their coffee was really tasty!

I liked this place, enjoyed my stay here. Would come again!! The hotel is gorgeous and the food is absolutely delicious!

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Possibly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. This is a 2-3 star hotel at best. The staff are untrained and rude, ignoring requests, standing around chatting pretending not to see you. The man at reception is the rudest most ignorant receptionist I’ve ever met. I had checked out and payed that morning, I was going to a hospital appointment with my baby, he sent someone out to the taxi and told the taxi not to leave that I needed to be spoken to at reception. I went in, he wanted to check the mini bar! It took 15 minutes all the time my baby was in the taxi. I felt like a criminal. I paid 5€ even though I didn’t use anything but just wanted to get out. They had all my luggage so I was returning to the hotel. He was extremely rude at check in too. A man in the restaurant refused to bring my sister the bill, I presume because she’s a woman, it was only when my husband returned that he agreed to bring the bill!! He’s smirked when asked why he wouldn’t bring it! Besides this the hotel is old and tatty. Nothing works- sockets, lights, remote controls. The aircon can’t be lowered beyond 25 degrees. It was 28 degrees outside. We had to sleep with the windows open and noisy road outside. The only upside to this sham of a hotel is the roof top pool
