I had a wonderful stay at The Bailey’s Hotel on Gloucester Road. The location is unbeatable — right next to the tube station, with plenty of cafes, museums, and shops just a short walk away. The building itself is beautiful, with charming Victorian architecture and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. My room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, and the bed was incredibly cozy after a day of sightseeing. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London.
Experience from a solo, female traveler: I chose this hotel for location, room amenities, price, and safety. The hotel is in a great area not far from Hyde Park and the Natural History museum. There are cafes across the street. The tube station is also right next door. It's the closest you could possibly get so the trip from the airport was easy. The hotel itself was lovely. Breakfast was great (buffet style with servers as well) and had plenty of vegetarian options. I stayed in the cozy room (small double) and honestly as a solo traveler it was perfect. I didn't plan on living in there so it was great for what I needed and had every single amenity you could want (blow dryer, mini fridge, espresso machine, shampoo/conditioner, AC, US plug, etc...). I would definitely stay here again in the future or stay at one of there other locations. Side note- I was on the 4th floor and you can hear people above you. This is something the hotel can't control, but be aware. I unfortunately had someone above me that was up past midnight walking quite a bit in the room and the floor boards squeaked so loud I had to put in earplugs. But other than that the room was incredibly quite- no outside noise at all.
Genuine 3 star hotel at best. Rooms small. Limited to no view from the 2 rooms we booked (1 had partial street view the other faced a brick wall). The provisions in the room consisted of 2 teabags, tea cups without saucers and very little else. Water flowed from shower onto floor due to no screen. Breakfast was good and service staff were nice. Internal stairs and tiny lifts made it difficult to move luggage. Doormen were friendly and great at flagging down cabs. Lobby entry was a letdown and felt tizzy with cheap looking chandeliers near the lifts. Actual did not match the brochure. Location excellent but expected much more for the price 🙁
