The Barn

We visited Dar Skibber at The Barns Pigallie with my elderly father and not-at-all-wicked step-mother :) My Dad is disabled and dependent upon oxygen. We found Dar Skibber to be perfect for our week away. Dad could use the main (downstairs) shower/bathroom easily (a shower stool is provided). There are two good-sized bedrooms downstairs as well as one upstairs (with an en-suite bathroom upstairs). The beds were very comfortable. The accommodation was clean, modern, spacious and very well laid out (although the sloping ceilings in the upstairs bedroom and upstairs en-suite bathroom are a bit tight - watch your head!). The accommodation is well-equipped, including plenty of power-points (useful for medical equipment) and the on-site games room was great for my wife and I to spend some time whilst my parents were resting (table tennis, table football, air-hockey, pool and darts). We particularly liked sitting on the decked area outside the patio doors and the peaceful surroundings, including a well-maintained garden area. Although there are other holiday apartments in the same vicinity (I think it's an old farmyard in a geographic hollow), the area was peaceful and we weren't disturbed or overlooked. An absolutely lovely spot. There is an old 'tramway' cycleway/walk nearby which we (Dad on his mobility scooter) used to walk to the beach (and bakery) in Portreath - about 2½-3 miles each way. James and Rosemary were excellent hosts, very approachable and helpful, but not at all intrusive.

We adored our stay here. We stayed in number 6 and had family staying in the other properties. The property was immaculate and we enjoyed our tea just outside while listening to a woodpecker and the brook. St Agnes is only 15 minutes away and St Erth is a little further but a train from there to St Ives only takes 10 minutes! The games room had plenty of options and we spent lots of time there. We would definitely stay here again.

Suburb holiday accommodation in a great location a number of options to suit everyone including accessible options. Also has games facilities and laundry. Great location near Redruth with easy access parking and reach of local amenities and route’s further afield.
