We loved our stay at Stow on the Wold and our room at the Stewart House. The town is like stepping back in time. It could be used for a movie location, it's so authentically medieval. The shops and restaurants are charming. We had a delicious Sunday Roast dinner at The Posting House and very filling complementary breakfast in the Bell Tavern. Our room, which is called the "Otter" room, was spacious enough to be comfortable and the bathroom looked like it had recently been remodeled. The mini fridge was stocked with drinks and snacks which are available for purchase at checkout. There's also a Nespresso machine and electric kettle. Only one negative: our room was at ground level and the only window opened out to the courtyard where a group was sitting and chatting until quite late. The day was warm so we really needed the window opened. It would have been lovely to have air conditioning which isn't practical in these antique buildings, but a fan would have been appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this very picturesque spot.
Didn’t stay, walked in for breakfast at 8am. Server was welcoming and I had the full English. Hash browns were crispy and so was the streaky bacon. Would recommend to everyone as I considered it a 10/10 👍
Location is fine, however the "squirrel" room is not a double room, we occupied three rooms the hedgehog and the fox and the squirrel, which the other two was slightly bigger but for for the same price. All three rooms was not clean, the amount of dust that was in the rooms was disgraceful considering we checked in as the cleaner had just finished all rooms and we also got told check in was not available till 3:30 due to the delay on the cleans. One of the rooms there was no remote for the TV we had to give up one of the fans in the room for the smaller room as it was so hot in there. The toilets was filthy once you lifted the seat up, the blinds was damaged paint on the walls chipped. The amount of dust on the blue bed runner mustn't of had a wash in its life expectancy, the bed sheets there was hair in the bed. The access to the property of an evening is not well lit and can be dangerous, car park is very tight and small, running on very minimal staff at the bell pub which is where you go for check-in however this is not explained.
