The Bell Inn

Fantastic local pub and B&B. Such a warm welcome, great food, and a lovely room too. Highly recommended Breakfast was fabulous (and tailored happily to our needs), and we enjoyed curry night too. The rest of the menu looked great, would love to come back.

Popped is as passing for Sunday lunch. Meat was good and in my mind particularly the lamb. Veg was tasty and well cooked so not raw or soggy. Pudding was good. Have brownie and pavlova. Service friendly. Overall a good place to consider for Sunday lunch

The pub is not (yet?) disability friendly, which we were not warned about before arriving with a disabled friend even though we specified the disability when booking. Specifically: No disabled only parking slots. Limited parking generally in fact. No hand rails on the large steps down from the restaurant/pub to the toilets. And a spring fire door at the top of the steps that likes to close and push you down the steps. Poorly positioned hand rails by the toilet makes getting off the toilet difficult if you have impaired balance. And, the seats in the dining areas are really hard and uncomfortable! The good bits? The staff were very friendly and helpful (they found me a softer chair!) and the food was OK, and although the fish and veg were cooked well there was not enough veg, the crushed potatoes needed much more sauce, and the caper sauce was more crushed capers than sauce and very salty.
