We much appreciated the way the hotel was run from the easy booking, the emailed reminders with useful details, to the flexible hours for check-in, bar snacks and garden food. The only room available was one of the cheaper 'good' rooms and even this was very pleasant with comfortable bed, plenty of space, and a large bathroom. Every dish at dinner went down well. The breakfast was cooked to order which makes all the difference, and had unusual options like cured trout and eggs Benedict. Service came with a smile and a real willingness to meet requests. Long Melford is delightful and we could walk around from the hotel. All in all, we had a great weekend.

We stayed for 3 nights from 15th June. Our room was generally lovely, if somewhat noisy as above the road, but that can't be helped as all the windows needed to be open as it was so hot for our stay. I think the temporary secondary glazing in the bathroom needs to be removed as it is a health hazard, as it could drop out anytime. We had Sunday lunch when we arrived, and that was very nice. The main course could have been a tad warmer when it arrived but that is a small issue. Your breakfasts were very good all round. All your staff were lovely - very happy, smiley and helpful Would recommend

The food and service were absolutely brilliant – I couldn’t fault them. The steak I had was cooked to perfection, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately, the whole experience was massively let down by a large table with an aggressive, barking dog. Why take a dog to a nice restaurant? I’m increasingly fed up with going out for a meal only to have the experience spoiled by dogs. Such a shame, because the restaurant itself is excellent.
