The Blackpool Hotel

Our experience at Black Pool Hotel was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The food was exceptional, offering a delicious variety of both local and international dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. And the view? Simply breathtaking! Surrounded by the lush greenery and cool mist of Nuwara Eliya, it felt like a peaceful escape from the world. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty all in one place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable honeymoon and birthday stay! We stayed here for one night on June 15th, 2025, for our honeymoon (full board) and everything was beyond perfect from start to finish! We started with lunch — it was so delicious, we instantly loved it. We had requested honeymoon decorations and they were beautifully done. Our room was stunning: spacious, cozy, with charming British-style vibes and beautiful furniture. It even had an electronic fireplace, which was such a thoughtful touch for the chilly Nuwara Eliya nights. Dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent too — we even tried some unique dishes we hadn’t seen in Colombo buffets before. Every meal was a delight. To top it all off, the next day was my birthday and my husband had arranged a surprise cake. The staff switched off the lights during dinner and brought out a beautiful cake 🎂 such a sweet and memorable moment! The staff were so kind and attentive throughout our stay. We had a truly special honeymoon and birthday celebration here. We absolutely loved our stay and would love to come back again someday. Highly recommended!

We spent one night here in March 2025 and only got there shortly before dinner. It’s a fairly big hotel on the edge of Nuwara Eliya. The rooms are spread out over several floors and have a British-style vibe. The place does seem a bit past its prime, though. But our room had everything we needed. There was even a electronic fireplace—yep, it can get pretty chilly up here at night. To be honest, the dinner buffet didn’t really impress us. There was a lot to choose from, but we’ve had better food elsewhere in Sri Lanka. On top of that, the drink prices were pretty steep. We can’t say anything about breakfast since we had to leave really early for our hike in Horton Plains (a long drive, if e remember correctly about an hour). We should’ve ordered something ahead of time, but misunderstood how it worked. At least we managed to head out with a banana and a bread roll. I wish I could say more, but our stay was super short. Walking into the center of Nuwara Eliya seemed a bit of a trek from the hotel.
