Stopped here whilst doing the Coast to Coast walk. Great food, good selection of beers and good value accommodation although accommodation is definitely geared towards walkers looking for a bed for the night rather than those looking for a romantic get away. Friendly atmosphere in the bar /restaurant with a number of other walkers staying and/or eating here. Option to camp also available.
Dinner last evening for seven - four big guns and three littleuns - good food choices albeit the website menu shows bacon chops which are discontinued but on which I was looking forward too! That did not detract from the experience - the food was good, tasty and hot. Our waitress was nice and friendly and all in all an excellent evening
Fantastic food here, stopped in for a Sunday dinner and the portions were HUGE. Lovely owners and staff. I had the Turkey and it was amazing, full plate and then a huge serving of vegetables appeared with cauliflower cheese. Bring your appetite. Theakston beer and a roaring log fire... Would definitely recommend..
