First of all this is a very old establishment and that is reflected in the decor. Do not let this put you off. A fantastic welcome, a wonderful bar and restaurant. The beers are sublime, good wine choice. Go and have a good walk in the morning come back for lunch and enjoy the whole package. Which you will if you just chill
Magnificent thirst quenching beer from local brewer, Tring Brewery. Staff on this occasion slightly stressed as serving at bar and waitressing. As well as a tortoise and Guinea pigs an aviary provides interest in this wonderfully picturesque public house.
We went for a drink with our Australian relatives on a Sunday when the pub was heaving with visitors. Fantastic historical pub. We didn't eat primarily because we'd not thought to, but the food looked great, and everyone appeared happy. When we revisit, we will definitely eat. Prices were surprisingly reasonable. I loved seeing the tortoise, guinea-pigs, rabbits etc in a good sized run in the garden 😀
