The Brownswood

I loved my stay at the Brownswood. The cleaning staff were especially nice. I was late for breakfast and was expecting to miss it but they were waiting me before clearing it and were so kind and welcoming. The people working at the bar and the patrons of the pub were also very friendly. I got to take part in the pub quiz that is held weekly on Wednesdays and it was a blast! The quiz master was particularly charming (and clever!) and kept us all entertained with the questions he had set for the evening. If you are in this part of London, I highly recommend Wednesday evenings at the Brownswood - Pub Quiz, Beer and Good Food - what more can one ask for!

Exactly as expected. We spend 4 nights at the Brownswood and the staff were exceptional. Our room was exactly as advertised and did not disappoint. We quickly figured out the rail/bus system which made our trip quite pleasant and attractions very accessible. If planning to stay in the extreme heat, be prepared that there is no air conditioning, but they do have dyson fans (which for us in July was just fine)

I haven’t stayed at this guest house yet in Soke Newington but am considering to do so over the coming months. The guest house highlighted its nearby pub. Given the demographics of pubs I wanted to ensure that our dining experience would be inclusive and therefore I called the pub to ask if someone from an ethnic minority background would be welcomed. I was told that they would be and was told that diversity is valued. I was also reassured that all guests are treated with respect. 👍🏽
