My husband & I had a wonderful experience at this charming hotel. Staff were attentive & helpful. Room was delightful. Food was delicious. Loved the relaxed atmosphere. Can highly recommend in every way.
We booked the Bull as we had a wedding close by, we booked for 5 nights. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were also amazing. Our room however I was a little disappointed in, it was very small and no where to store luggage no AC just a little fan that didn’t really do much. We had to have the window open and as we were close to the road the noise made it difficult to sleep. Mattress and pillows need attention too. Other guests of the wedding that only stayed one night had much bigger rooms. Considering we were staying 5 nights I think a bit more thought in room allocation would be great. Let me say that the bigger rooms looked amazing and were on the quieter side of the hotel so maybe when booking specify one of the larger rooms :)
Food not as described on the menu, different ingredients used on the day. Turnips instead of courgettes. Bisque accompaniment to the trout was more like a creamy tasteless sauce. Washroom sinks were dirty, bin overflowing, wonky toilet seats. Service was ok, felt ignored on arrival and at the end of the meal. Staff generally really friendly, food came out quickly but was the soggy pastry due to microwave? Fell short of expectation I’m afraid.
