The Caledonian Edinburgh Curio Collection by Hilton

Stayed 2 nights at The Caledonian Edinburgh late June 2025. The hotel is first class all the way. The lady at the front desk was able to get us an early check in after a Long flight from Texas. We booked a larger King room and were pleased to see the size and amenities. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast buffet was heavenly. The bathroom was luxurious with high quality amenities. The staff was amazing and they even mailed a post card for us on our request. Location is superb as you can walk to the Scott monument, Princess street, Ross fountain and other local attractions. There are restaurants right across the street and an easy access to public transport and ride share. M&S is 5 min walk and there is an Tesco express 2 minutes away. Overall excellent stay and two thumbs way up!

Rooms are ok bathroom was better Great rain shower. Location is as central as you can get. My check in was delayed by over 2 hours but it was a busy time of year drank champagne and ate short bread while I waited for my room to ready. Breakfast is good some things on the menu I had to a supplement which I found strange on a 350 pound a night room service was on point though at reception and at breakfast friendly and professional.

Once a year, I take a very nice trip somewhere in the world. Except for 2024, I didn’t go on holiday because my daughter passed away. It's 2025 I started planning my holiday and decided on London and Scotland. I struggled with the choice of hotels and the fact that I made 3 reservations and finally decided on the Caledonian because of the location and reviews plus I wanted to try out the Hilton Honors. I communicated with the Caledonian and Hilton Honors about my stay. No one ever mentioned to me that there would be construction outside my room. They put me on the first floor. The construction was right outside my window. The machinery was waking me up before 8 AM every morning. I informed the front desk repeatedly and then one night I was sitting at the bar with a couple. They were telling me that they had the same problem, but the hotel changed their room Granted I don’t wanna believe that the hotel would not change my room because my physical identifier was different from the couple at the bar. I had to ask to see the manager or the assistant manager. After a few days, I finally got to another room, so I had one good night of sleep without being awakened by construction. I’ve traveled more than halfway around the world and I’ve always stayed in the very best hotels and I have never been treated so chappily. With that said I love Scotland. The locals are so lovely. I met some of the most wonderful people just not at the front desk of this hotel.
