My partner and I recently stayed in the Princess suite. From the moment we arrived to when we left we were made to feel like v.i.p treatment. On the first day it was raining we pulled up and were greated by staff with umbrellas allowing us to check in without getting wet. They then parked out rental car undercover and got our bags to our room while we were shown all the features our room had to offer e.g how to turn the spa on and so fourth. Room was great clean. All staff were the best always listen to what you had to say and made you feel like you were the only guest there (which we weren't many guest there) Breakfast was excellent every morning. Well worth the money and will 100% be staying there again.

We stayed in a Panorama room for three nights. There are lots of positives and a few minor tweaks could make this a truly six star experience. Firstly, the service was very attentive. In particular, we will single out Patrick who was exceptional and an asset to the Carlin. He strikes the right balance between offering suggestions for your stay and being available for any questions you have about Queenstown. Being collected in the Bentley was a nice touch as well! The suite was superb, comfy bed, well appointed amenities and the terrace with fire, spa and view are very good. What could take this to the next level? If guest had a pre-check in service with recommendations on itinerary based on preferences (which we’ve had in similar standard properties) is a really nice touch and would be fitting of the standard they are aiming for. Next, and perhaps not a popular one, it should be an adults only property. The screaming baby next door on our final night was a small inconvenience but made me reflect on the suitability of the property for families with young children. It’s isn’t really. All in all, it’s a 9/10 experience. Small details and a few little things tailored to individual preferences could lift the Carlin into the next level. I’d also make more use of Patrick as the hotel guest front of office / ambassador.

I stayed in Lakeview suites for NZD2,500 a night. I thought nothing can go wrong with that premium rate but i really shocked when checked in the room. Eventhough its spacious and it has a reasonable good view to the lake but the quality of the room is 3 stars hotel for being generous rating. All the table , living room and bathrooms material are ceramic tile. Furniture are made from cheap material , really mass market product. The chandelier is not original crystal but can tell its cheap one. Short of staffs, when we checked out at noon, no one in the reception area, no one in the kitchen or dining room. The website showing Bentley car , i saw it in the parking lot but they picked me up with old van. Breakfast is ala cart , only can choose one from a few options. We enter to the lift from parking garage that doesn't smell good. The lift wall is covered by green color upholstery of their sofa, its so ugly. Attached is the photo from room’s door to living room. Its really a trapped for those think $2,500 is luxury suite. I think pricing should be around $500-600 to be fair
