The Cawdor

Stayed last night after the town's car show. The staff were amazing. The reception made checking in easy and also took the time to find me in the evening and complemented me on my display vehicle that was in the car park. 🛻. The restaurant staff were very helpful and efficient. The room and bathroom were large. The bed was comfortable. The car park is secure, (you need a code to get in), but it has a tight left hand turn to get to it, which can be tricky for larger vehicles.

My partner and I have to travel to Carmarthen to visit my parents frequently, and we’ve been looking for a place for years that has the magic combination of spacious rooms, good food, good service, parking and of course, WiFi! The Cawdor has them all! We were greeted by the charming Melody who comprehensively let us know all we needed to know about local points of interest, timings etc, and who even offered to take our bags up to our room (but we needed the steps more than her!) We then went for a walk around the very quaint village (the old school house is a must-see) and ended up at the bridge overlooking the river, which was absolutely beautiful. We returned to have dinner and were served by Etty, who once again gave us excellent, well informed service that was a real pleasure. We chose fish and chips as a bit of an indulgence, and it was excellent! The chips were groove cut, which I’ve never seen before, and were so crispy and delicious, I actually miss them! Next morning, we had breakfast, and once again, everything was perfect and set us up for a long day ahead. We were genuinely sad to leave after such a lovely experience, but 💯 will be staying at the Cawdor ANY time we have to travel to mid, or mid-west Wales. I cannot recommend this place, and its staff more.

Super friendly staff! Our room was spacious and very comfortable with a fabulous double ended bath and second to none shower. The evening 3 course a la carte dinner was sublime in taste, presentation and generous portions, bring your big pants 👌. Every aspect of our stay represented value for money, we will return.
