Very good central location. 2 little parking bays next to the hotel for loading. Plenty of nearby parking although limited height restrictions on many of those. We only found one place that could handle our roof box. The receptionist was very friendly and the room clean and comfortable. Nicely decorated and some lovely little touches in the room. Would definitely return.
We had a little works get together here and everything was just spot on. From the get go, Jon was attentive and very helpful and gave ample information and execution to provide a space and a very nice and chilled evening for us. We had the bar snacks sharer boards and fries and the food was lovely. The staff on the day were amazing and very attentive, provided little touches by asking if the music was at an adequate level for us, switching the heat lamps on and making sure we had everything that we needed. Thank you very much to everyone who helped to provide a successful night for us! 5 star!
I had a wonderful 2-nights stay in May when I was visiting Exeter for the Cathedral. The City Gate hotel is cozy and smart and fun to stay in - and the location is great and actually very close to the Cathedral, the center, The Royal Albert Museum, the riverside ... The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, and the staff was very supporting and friendly when I had a problem with my creditcard. Perfect for solo or couples.
