One of my favourite pubs, for the interior and friendly staff. Outside is well catered for with large parasols. Food is good for the price. But make sure you get your dessert order in.
On arrival the building looks unassuming, so In all honesty, I had low expectations; how very wrong I was. This is the first hotel I’ve ever stayed in where I felt the bedroom was laid out with a woman in mind with plugs and mirrors and desks aligned suitable for putting on your make up - thank you The room was comfortably warm The bed linen was excellent quality and the bed and pillows super comfy I am often disappointed in hotel showers, especially in converted old buildings whether there is low pressure. This was not the case here. The bathroom whilst fairly small had all the essentials and the shower was gloriously powerful. Last, but not least, the staff at the site were extremely friendly; given my delicate state the morning after my Christmas Do, they were extremely considerate and looked after me and my team well at breakfast (brunch!)
Had to send the food back as it was cold with the exception of the fish, after a shrug it was simply microwaved. They didn't micro the fish though as that was already overcooked meaning when my dish was returned everything was hot except the fish. Every floorboard creaked in the rooms and hallway, meaning you were disturbed by people walking past and when in their rooms. The coldest bathroom I have ever experienced in a hotel and the bedroom needed a supplementary radiator to keep it to a habitable temperature. Breakfast was edible though. Would not recommend.
