We came in from Canada to Barcelona to celebrate my friend's 40th birthday. We arrived quite early for check in and they were able to accommodate a bit of an earlier check in for us while also upgrading us since they had some empty rooms that week. The staff snuck champagne and cake up to the room to help us celebrate my friend's birthday and completely surprised us with their thoughtfulness. The desk attendants all spoke fairly fluently in English, which helped us greatly as foreigners. We want to especially shout out Pablo at the front desk. He was so friendly and knew the neighborhood so well and had so many suggestions for fun things to do during some breaks in our itinerary. He suggested us to our 2 favorite meals that we had in the city! The rooms were air conditioned and larger than expected. The pool was a little haven in the city to go to during the heat of mid day. Thank you for a great stay! I would say this was a great value for the money spent!
Just stayed a night, and the corner room I had on the sixth floor was great. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. The hotel architect made a poor design choice using a metal door into a bathroom, resulting in a lot of rust, and the shower caulk could stand to be replaced, but nothing egregious. My room wasn't quite ready at 3, and they offered a complementary drink on the rooftop patio as a kind gesture, and it was ready at 310! A late checkout was granted even though they were full. Overall great place and good hospitality, and I'd return.
Lovely hotel with a lot of potential that requires more attention to details for a four star hotel. Stayed in a superior room that was great with a couple of exceptions…TV was not set up to any channels or internet and a shelf in closet was loose. The next day the TV was set up but the shelf was not fixed. The cleaning of the room was very minimal from one day to the other. Again no attention to details. Bed was poorly made; mirrors were not cleaned and shower was not cleaned and amenities not replaced. Breakfast also was an issue some of the products seemed to have been prepared the night before and refrigerated and taken out for the breakfast service which made them have like a refrigerator burn and taste. Food generally cold because the hot plate was not warm enough. Some of the dishes and cups had a funky smell as well. The greens were wilted and old. Food and beverage need to step up and monitor as does the housekeeping supervision because clearly there is not oversight. This is all constructive because the rooms are actually nice and chic and bedding comfortable. They are lost in not paying attention to the details.
