The County Hotel Newcastle

We had our wedding here on Saturday 28th June 2025. We had the most incredible weekend ever. The county hotel was everything and more. The team are absolutely phenomenal. Big shout out especially to Paul and Matthew for keeping a stressed bride calm and for making sure everything was how it should be. Matthew, your support throughout the whole weekend was second to none. Also to our wedding coordinator Lukas. Your support all the way through the lead up to the wedding will never be forgotten. The food was amazing and everyone was so happy with everything. We feel so lucky to have picked this hotel as our venue. Highly highly recommend this hotel. Thank you guys for giving us the most memorable weekend. We can't wait to come back and visit soon ❤️

Love this hotel, really helpful staff and great rooms. The location is obviously perfect for anyone planning to use trains or metros for getting around. I really enjoyed the breakfast here. The room wasn't huge but it was perfect for a one night stay.

Great location but other than that there isn’t much to compliment. The tiny room stunk. It seemed clean at a first glance but when you took a proper look there were literal cobwebs in the corners and piles of dust in the ventilation. It also needed renovation, paint peeling off etc. The water in the shower changes temperature randomly from hot to cold. The tap in the sink is way too short so you end up spilling water all over the place whenever you want to wash your hands. The staff also not very helpful, didn’t explain to me where the breakfast is until specifically asked, took forever to check me in, when checking out the guy had a bit of an attitude as well. No dental kits even when requested. Breakfast very meh. Not much choice. It all wouldn’t really be a major issue and probably wouldn’t bother writing the review if the room didn’t stink as much but honestly couldn’t wait to go home and take a shower after staying there for a nigh. For anyone hoping for a 4 star experience my advice would be to stay away from here unless all you care about is the location.
