A lovely little find on our way back from Betws-y-coed to Fairbourne. Stopped off for a quick drink only, although others were eating and the food looked good. Decent selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. Good, friendly service and parking on the road outside or opposite on space reserved for the pub

Fantastic few days in this gem of a Bunkhouse. The Cross Foxes is a great base to explore the amazing countryside. Bike storage and dry room were a godsend after a wet few days. Highly recommend the Steak Pie washed down with a great pint of Guinness. Chris the owner was on hand with advice for the best routes. Would have no hesitation in recommending and we will be back.

Popped into Cross Foxes in Trawsfynydd for a Sunday carvery and was genuinely impressed with most of the food. The meats were cooked just right, the roast potatoes were crispy perfection, and everything was hot and well-stocked. The only real letdown was the gravy — way too salty. It really overpowered the rest of the plate, which was a shame because everything else was spot on. As for the service… unforgettable, for better or worse. There’s a staff member — I think her name was Kaya — who definitely makes herself known. She’s bubbly, adventurous, and clearly full of energy, but honestly… she’s loud. Like, shouting-across-the-room-when-you’re-sat-right-there loud. Very friendly, no doubt about that, but if you’re hoping for a quiet, relaxing Sunday meal, you might find her a bit much. Still, if you’re after a proper hearty carvery and don’t mind a bit of a racket, it’s definitely worth the visit.
