Affordable price if visiting the Lake District. Huge bathroom with two sink and big bath. Quiet contry village ideal for resting. Nearest shop Booths available anything just 2 min walk.

Great pie and chips with season veg. The beer was on form and there was another dozen or so dining and a few more drinking. There was a separate dining room if you wanted to go in there to eat. There was also a separate pool table room and a dedicated snooker room. There was a great selection of real ales and the lunchtime menu was extensive. The barman was friendly and cheery. There is a Car park and several picnic tables in the beer garden. Dogs are welcome.. I recommend this place for food and drinks.

I needed a hotel near the M6 for myself, and this turned out to be a little Gem. Only a few minutes drive from the Motorway, quaint little village location, and from the outside looked very appealing. Large car park, and also some local amenities nearby. Great bar, I arrived on a Saturday and it was really busy, friendly locals and visitors. The staff (Manager in particular) were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was good value, and I had a large room with en suite, the decor however is very dated, the bar itself is fine but the rooms and dining area are in need of modernisation. Good food for the price, exceptionally clean and fantastic staff, so I would recommend, and would return. 5 stars if it gets a bit of a refresh in the future.
