Oscar & his team we're fantastic during our stay, polite well mannered & very helpful. Nothing was to much for them. Excellent location, excellent food, & excellent service. Thanks from Harry & Sharon.
We called in during a beautiful sunny day. 2nd time of visiting this pub so, can only give an initial short review. What we experienced was a lovely pub in the beautiful country. Free parking. Great bar. Good service. Nice interior. Food available to purchase. Overall, so far, we like this place very much and will certainly return.
Amazing scenery and super cosy pub atmosphere which Is why I carefully selected The Crossroads Inn. Travelling a lot I usually try to avoid overnight stays in pubs because they can be so hit and miss and sadly the crossroads was a bit of a miss. Whilst the room was a little on the tired side it had a decent tv, a comfy bed and was very clean, but after a very long day all I wanted to do was eat, have a pint or two and go to sleep. I was seated in the restaurant and served a pint very quickly but that’s as far as I got, the waitress taking orders repeatedly walked past me despite me catching her attention on numerous occasions.. After just shy of 30 minutes without my order being taken I asked the couple next to me how long they had been waiting for their food to arrive as I could sense they too were becoming unsettled. They had already been waiting 45 minutes for starters to arrive and as another table of 8 next to me had already placed their orders I genuinely couldn’t see my food arriving before midnight. To be fair to the very pleasant young lady behind the bar she did give me my pint on the house but I would much rather not had to find somewhere else to eat at short notice. I settled for a rather grim KFC but managed to drive into Halifax, eat the food and return to see the couple I had conversed with still eating. Honestly the food looked lovely, the staff are super friendly but they CLEARLY need more staff as reading reviews it’s not the first time they have been understaffed. Honesty, if I had just been told very early on when I originally booked I could have made an informed decision rather than sitting alone wasting my time waiting for the kitchen to catch up. I prepaid and was booked in for breakfast at 7 but as I had a really busy day ahead and had very little confidence in the organisation of the kitchen I decided to skip breakfast and make a sharp exit.
