The site was spotless and all amenities were superb. The host made sure that we had everything we needed, it felt like a proper home from home but under the stars. It was a joy to wake up in open countryside and spend the day mooching around. I will be recommending The Fields to like minded friends who enjoy the outdoors. Thank you Leanne, see you next year Great value, great people and great surroundings.
It was myself and my daughters first time glamping and I can say we will definitely be booking again. The service was great, we were welcomed on arrival, shown our tent and the owners checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure we were happy. The tent was clean, the bed was very comfortable and all the facilities were in good working order. It was so nice to have families mix in together and see all the children become friends, the play barn was great to play family games or just relax on the comfy sofas. The shower/toilet block was very clean and modern with hot water, the kitchen hub had all the facilities needed including a fridge and freezer to store food, and we could pop in to make a cuppa anytime. My daughter loved the swimming pool, especially the slide, and we were lucky to see the lambs on our last day as they came very close to the fence to take a selfie! On our departure the owners even came out to say goodbye. I do believe there are going to be some fantastic changes in the future following new ownership, and I'm looking forward to next years arrival. At the end of the day it's about the children and giving them a great opportunity to explore and have fun. Thank you for letting us stay
We've visited this site many times in the past and always loved it. Unfortunately, under the new ownership, it feels quite different — a bit more stripped back and less welcoming than before. Some of the unique touches we used to enjoy, like the llamas, goats, and the communal atmosphere around the gas BBQ and evening fire, are no longer part of the experience. Prices have also increased, which makes the changes more noticeable. The pool is still a draw though the 10am to 6pm opening hours can be a bit limiting. During our stay, it was quiet and we were lucky to share the space with a couple of lovely families, which helped make it a pleasant visit overall. However, if the site were at full capacity, the limited shared facilities — especially just one charcoal BBQ and the restricted pool access — could be an issue. The potential is still there, but it’s lost some of the charm and community feel that made it special in the past.
