We had a great stay at the hotel. The spa was just fantastic and the food was everything you could wish for. For dinner we had a menu with 3 main courses and 2 deserts to pick from every day plus a salad buffet and the breakfast was also a buffet. Thomas was our waiter and he made sure my food was allergy free. The location is very quiet and in the town is not much to do end of June so we were happy with the free Summer Card to go explore mountain tops and other villages. Only things I disliked were no airconditioning while 28 degrees so very hot inside and the curtains were letting a lot of light through.

We had a booking for one week. The hotel is of good quality with a good sauna, wellness and pool area. The breakfast buffet is really good. The dinner has a entree buffet with many choices, and a served main course. The dinner is of good quality but I still expected a little more both in quantity and quality for the served course. The desserts were always very tasty. The people in the room next to us were smokers, which was really annoying when they were smoking on the terrace and we were on the terrace or had the windows open. At checkout the staff argued they can’t do anything about that because it is allowed. In my opinion: I don’t want to go to a hotel of this quality (which you pay for) and then to be disturbed by a neighbour’s smoking addiction. Maybe a non smoker area or non smoking floor could do the job… The parking spaces in the garage are small, luckily we drive a small car. Location and view: sublime.

A VAYA Unique…ly Disappointing Experience Like many other reviewers, we had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and had a positive experience. Based on that, we returned with high expectations—unfortunately, what we found this time was a steep decline in quality and service. - Food: The buffet was well below standard. The selection was minimal, and much of it looked as though it had been sitting out far too long. - Cleanliness: Our room was not clean on arrival—dusty floors and black hairs on the bedding. While it was eventually addressed, the issue wasn’t handled particularly well by the staff. - Room condition: The facilities are clearly aging. The toilet seat and shower head were broken, which only added to the feeling of neglect. - Parking: We were charged €8 per day for parking, yet our designated spot was practically submerged due to leaking pipes in the garage. Overall, the experience fell far short of what we expected, especially given the price point. It’s clear from other recent reviews that this isn’t an isolated case—VAYA is no longer offering the value or service it once did. Recommendation: Look elsewhere for accommodation.
