The Daffodil Hotel & Spa

I am so impressed by this hotel. It is immaculate, seems recently refurbished and has excellent facilities. Staff are polite, helpful and attentive. The rooms are great and we had a spacious bathroom with large bath. The spa is very clean and has an excellent sauna and steam room. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed an evening watching the sunset on the terrace facing the lake. The bee hives on the grounds are really cool too. Highly recommend, will return. In particular, thank you to the staff at breakfast who go above and beyond with a smile even amidst rude guests.

Excellent property. We stayed in a family room which was very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Lots of sitting areas (we did some work from there) and lounges/bars. Friendly people - special thanks to Marcus for helping me charge my car. Gorgeous location by the water. 10 min walk into Grasmere.

Such a beautiful setting, but sadly our room left a lot to be desired. It was supposed to have air conditioning, due to me having a condition whereby I can't control my temperature, so am always hot. The air con wasn't working properly, so the bedroom was hotter than the rest of the hotel - as obviously the air con was working elsewhere! Complained, and was promised it would be sorted at the main control. Unfortunately, after a day out, housekeeping decided to remove our room key, which meant all the electric was off - including what little air con there was! The room was stifling! No decent chairs, and an 'accessible ' room that had the smallest sink in the world! And a shower over a bath? How does that work if you're disabled? When we complained upon leaving, the receptionist was totally indifferent. Restaurant food and service was very good, but would we go back? Not a chance.
