The Dilly

I had afternoon tea here yesterday with a friend. We both thought it was excellent. The location and setting are nice and the food quantity, quality, presentation and value were really good. What made the experience for us was the service. We were made to feel welcome and valued by the staff (particularly Ivy) , the waiters were attentive but not intrusive, everyone was cheerful and smiling, the whole experience made us feel good. Thank you Dilly (and Ivy).

Overall, we were happy with the hotel. The location is incredible. It did not feel like a 5 star hotel as it is not the most modern set up and the amenities and room service were average. Staff were very accommodating. Appreciated the fresh glass-bottled water each day. Terrific breakfast place across the way (Farmer J).

The only good thing is the location As for the room: the floors creak like an old house, the bathroom rack is so hot that you can burn yourself if you touch it and when asked the front desk if it could be turned off they said they would send the engineer immediately and two days later it didn’t happen The window of our room faces the breakfast area/ restaurant so blinds had to always be closed when we were in the room First night the room smelled like weed, a lot Same thing the second night Third night it smelled like food was being cooked The price is not worth it. This was the worst hotel in our two week trip in Europe Will not come back to this hotel again
