We stayed for three nights in the largest room in the hotel which was extremely clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could want. The staff were very efficient and helpful, we could not fault the service. The food was excellent and we doubt we have had better at any other hotel or restaurant in England. Wingham is an interesting village with many old buildings. It is near a zoo and a wildlife park and within easy distance of the Kent coast and other attractions in the area. We would go back without hesitation.

Country charm with gourmet flair. The Dog at Wingham delivers everything you want from a countryside stay — stylish, comfortable rooms, fantastic food, and warm, attentive service. The Worth It Moment: Waking up the morning of my wedding after a perfect night’s sleep, then enjoying a breakfast that set the tone for the big day — hearty, delicious, and beautifully cooked. Dinner the night before was just as memorable, with gourmet dishes that exceeded expectations. Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — A special place for special occasions (and everyday ones too).

A truly memorable Saturday afternoon at The Dog in Wingham. We were treated to the gentle charm of live folk music, which set the perfect backdrop for a leisurely, indulgent meal. The food was outstanding – a masterclass in both flavour and presentation. We began with light bites while we waited – expertly prepared scotch eggs and plump, briny olives, all complemented by a refreshing 0% craft beer from Naughty Dog on tap. My starter of short rib of beef was nothing short of sublime – slow-cooked, beautifully seasoned, and meltingly tender. The main course, a clever no-fish dish infused with Indian spices, was inventive and utterly delicious. This was followed by the much-talked-about Dog Tracks tart – well worth the hype – and a small cheese selection to round off the experience. The service was professional yet warmly informal, striking the ideal balance. Though the weather was changeable, the ample umbrellas provided more than enough cover, allowing us to enjoy the atmosphere without concern. An exceptional afternoon in every respect – relaxed, delicious, and unmistakably special. Highly recommended.
