We got married at The Dylan in May 2024, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we booked, the team made us feel so special — truly like royalty. Every detail was so thoughtfully taken care of the entire weekend. One unforgettable moment: during our outdoor ceremony, it started to rain — and almost instantly, the staff appeared with umbrellas for us and all of our guests, as if they’d been waiting in the wings. It was seamless, gracious, and just one of many examples of how attentive and prepared the team was. Elise, the events coordinator in particular, was incredible — from start to finish. We’re still laughing at her valiant (and very entertaining) attempt to quieten our wonderfully rowdy guests for the champagne toast introduction! If you’re considering getting married in Amsterdam, do it at The Dylan. It was the most joyful, unforgettable experience, and we only wish we could do it all again!
Such a beautiful hotel, with excellent service and unique rooms. They were all so lovely and ultra considerate at every turn. It was my husband’s birthday and they surprised him with a gorgeous chocolate cake and card. We don’t drink alcohol, and it was removed from the room, and the restaurant downstairs knew this when we dined and automatically offered us alternative drinks! Impressive. The location is also perfect, central and walking distance to most things. And the restaurant and bar downstairs is a must! So beautiful!
I rarely ever write reviews but I felt compelled to do so in this case. I booked this hotel for a business trip and noted it was supposed to deliver an excellent experience. Stayed here 6-9 May 2025 Overall very disappointed and underwhelmed by the experience: the The good: Location is great, staff very friendly and professional. Rooms very clean. HOWEVER, 1. the room layout was terrible bordering dangerous. I stayed in room 11 which had two levels (bedroom upstairs, bathroom and entrance downstairs). The stairs in between were narrow and very very difficult to navigate, every time I went down the stairs I was concerned I might trip fall and injure myself so much so that every visit to the bathroom became an annoying arduous trip. 2. Upon checking in, I was asked to pay 2500 Euros despite having fully paid the room when I booked it, when I questioned this the staff said it was an ‘error’ and I only needed to pay city taxes and leave a deposit of 200 euros per night, totalling 750Euro, a pretty big difference compared to the 2500 Euros I was asked for. 3. Breakfast was very underwhelming 4. There was no lift access to my room. While the staff were kind enough to carry my luggage up to the room, I had to carry my stuff down the stairs when I was checking out and I really felt uncomfortable and worried about the risk of falling and injuring myself I was never informed about the room layout nor given the choice prior to checking in. I am returning to Amsterdam in 3 months however I would never ever again stay in this hotel.
