The Editory Boulevard Aliados Hotel Preferred Hotels

Great location and beautiful room. Bathroom (especially shower) was really nice. Only issues were that the pool was closed for most of the day one day for an event (would have been nice to have been alerted prior to my arrival), and the only soap in the bathroom was in the shower (no bar of soap or other option at the sink). Small issues though in the grand scheme of things, and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

I will start by saying the room and the hotel is very clean and looked after. However before checking into this hotel I arranged for balloons and a cake for my fiancé's birthday. I had sent several messages back and forth organising this, with the hotel even suggesting what flavour cakes were available and what balloons to have. To my disappointment when we checked into the room nothing was there? I went back down to reception to mention it and the man said, 'oh yeah my colleague said something about that , sorry' I was really disappointed and it actually ruined the first night as I was looking forward to surprising my partner. The hotel never did anything to apologise for this which I am surprised about, especially being a '5 star' hotel. The next day we also noticed people checking in was given a map of Porto with things to do and suggestions, however we never received this when we checked in. We didn't eat at the restaurant here however everytime we walked past it was empty. The pool is very small and would be uncomfortable with more than 5 people in there. The rooms are also on the small side , however they are decorated nice and clean. I wouldn't stay here again, and therefore wouldn't recommend it to friends and family.

Would I recommend this hotel to others? Yes, but check your AC and shower first thing after checking in. We could not turn on the AC and the night auditor couldn’t either. it was sooooo hot the first night, he told us to open our window and we did but forgot there had just been a bunch of fireworks. so we inhaled that smoke all night and got sick. the next day the day time front desk was able to turn on the AC with ease…. meaning we didn’t have to suffer. 😭 the water in the shower was extremely hot because barely any cold water was coming out. they could not do anything about this so we had to take hot showers in the heatwave. the room itself was very nice and well decorated. the location was great and the bell boys were super attentive. I think we just got extremely unlucky with our room.
