SCAM ALERT! The door to our "room" was off its hinges and lying in the bedroom, next to a large pile of disassembled bedroom furniture. The"living room" also had a pile of dissassembled furniture & boxes of personal effects, as did the "kitchen." No bedding or linens, no lighting, no electricity! No response from "Luxe PGH" (the purported operators of this fake "hotel") when we tried to contact them, but a tenant in the bldg. (it's not a hotel, but rather a mansion converted into individual apartments) told us the unit has been vacated and left like that for 2 months now. It's pretty clear someone "rented" this, then listed it as a short-term rental, then was evicted by the landlord but IS STILL "RENTING IT AS A SHORT-TERM RENTAL!" TOTAL SCAM, AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS! Also, a big ZERO score to Hotels.com & Expedia for not having a human contact point to alert them, for refusing to refund us, and for not doing anything to resolve the situation or help us in any way
Do not stay at this property! Stayed in May 2024. The property manager does not communicate!! No phone number. Unreachable. It's a scam. Did not send access code for property. Keycode boxes on the main house door and inner room door were both broken/the batteries were dead. The doors did not lock. Had to prop a table inside for safety at night and couldn't leave anything while not in the room. The House is actively under repair. Hole in the wall. Paint cans and paint drippings in the vestibule. Wallpaper ripped/sagging. Couch is dirty with lots of discolored markings. TV in bedroom didn't work. In a gentrifying neighborhood called SLiberty (East Liberty) known for crime and drugs.
This place is abandoned. The phone number just goes to a blank voicemail. There's an 8-foot wall of trash piled on the side of building. I booked with hotels.com and they refused a refund and said it wasn't their problem so I had to refute the charge on my credit card.
