The Esplanade Resort and Spa

It's the nicest accommodation in Lakes Entrance. It's clean, accessible and has good amenities. I could hear the people in the next room easily because we shared an initial door which lead to 2 lockable rooms. I didn't like this feature. It would have been fine for a family or traveling friends, but not as a single room purchase.

I booked through Bookings.com on Sunday and saw after the booking my date was wrong, tried to change but Bookings.com wouldn't allow so I called the hotel. The lady came down on me like a ton of bricks basically scolding me for getting the dates wrong and belittling me, I have never ever been spoken to like that before. Lady you need to be taught how to speak to your customers! Check in lady, bar ladies etc were lovely however, the room was spacious, shower pressure was so good and spacious and the food was great. You could easily spend a week or 2 here comfortably.

We were in Lakes Entrance for business meetings and decided to stay the night to explore the town a bit more. The town itself is beautiful, and the locals are warm and friendly — it has so much potential as a getaway spot. However, our experience at the accommodation was quite disappointing. The moment we entered the building, there was a strong, unpleasant food smell lingering in the air, which made us feel uncomfortable right away. Even worse, we noticed ants around the room, which was very off-putting and made it hard to relax. While the location is convenient and central, the overall atmosphere inside the property was poor. Cleanliness and comfort are important, especially for travelers like us who are on the road for work. Unfortunately, this stay didn’t meet those basic expectations. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share honest feedback. I would not recommend this place unless significant improvements are made to hygiene and general upkeep.
