The Fairfax at Embassy Row

Great location and comfortable bed. Sheets were a little stiff or not as soft as I would expect from a high end hotel. Amenities in bathroom were amazing. Free pool table was fun. Bartender Eduardo was very personable and made wonderful drinks. Noises could be heard from other rooms, but about as expected in an older hotel.

What a lovely hotel! It was very clean and quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They had a nice common area with a restaurant and a bar, and even had a pool table, which I made frequent use of. My only very minor gripe is regarding the TV in my room. The signal was pretty bad on some of the channels, some of them were mislabeled, and only the down arrow worked to change the channel. But other than that, everything was great! It was within walking distance of several convenience stores and restaurants. I will definitely consider staying here again if I return to the area.

This hotel is lovely and elegant. I appreciate the service and all the staff I meet are very attentive and friendly. Minus one star for a couple of things, though. First, the gym could be improved. Second, the breakfast buffer is quite limited to greasy sausages and soggy eggs. They could really do better on this front. Still, nice location and beautiful historic building.
