This review is solely for the restaurant as we did not stay on site. We had dinner here and it was lovely! It's a beautiful old building with lovely decor and a great atmosphere. Friendly service and great food. We had the fish and chips as well as dessert and all of it was very yummy. I would return if in the area again!!
Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely location and decor. Pleasant outdoor area. Food was very tasty and beautifully presented. My only moan was the portion size. I'd had breakfast at half 7 and I was looking forward to a good main meal out with my cousin. She chose the burger and got a good size portion and was very happy. I went for the pork dish, which I thought would be filling and tasty. It was tasty but the portion size was very small and quickly eaten and I was still hungry. After paying £20 for a main meal, I don't expect to still be hungry as soon as I've eaten it. I'd happily go back for a meal, but I'd choose something different and hope it was more filling portion size.
Restaurant only review. Very disappointing experience, our annual visit of our local home town, we decided to meet up at The Falcon. It was a Thursday evening, a handful of tables. One of our party's meal was missed from the order. He declined to have the meal made as it would have taken time & everyone else had theirs. They did offer a starter and the poor waitress who was then left serving us (the manager didn't approach the table again after informing us of the mistake) offered a dessert. After we left, a complaint was issued to the Falcon by one of the party via email but the response wasn't great. The manager was the one who made the mistake & blamed it on 'ensuring the gluten free option was correct, that's why the order was missed'. It really marred the night for us all. The food we did receive was nice (small portions), but more costly than I thought it was worth - drinks (wine & soft drinks), 5 starters, 5 main meals, 2 desserts was around 330pounds. A real shame, as the family members who do live here won't be going back and now wouldn't recommend it.
