True to its brand, The Fern Residency blends sustainability with modern aesthetics. The check-in was smooth, the staff courteous, and the ambiance? It came equipped with all the amenities a traveler needs—from a cozy work desk to eco-friendly toiletries. Bonus points for spotless cleanliness and fast Wi-Fi (a must for any travel blogger on the go!). 🍽️ Culinary Delights Now, let’s talk about the highlight—the food! The in-house restaurant offers a delectable mix of local and global flavors. I kicked off my mornings with a well-spread breakfast buffet featuring everything from fresh fruits and cereals to piping hot parathas and South Indian classics. But the real treat was diving into the authentic Rajasthani thali for lunch—think dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri, and more. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and clearly prepared with love. Whether you’re a spice lover or prefer milder options, the menu has something for every palate. 🌆 Location Perks Nestled away from the city chaos but close enough to major attractions like City Palace, Fateh Sagar Lake, and Sajjangarh Fort, the location is ideal for explorers. It’s a great base for both sightseeing and relaxing. 🌱 Green Stays Matter As a traveler who cares about the planet, I was happy to see The Fern’s commitment to sustainability in action—solar panels, recycling stations, energy-saving key tags, and eco-friendly amenities. It feels good to know your stay isn’t costing the earth. 🌟 Final Verdict If you're planning a trip to Udaipur and want a stay that’s comfortable, responsible, and delightfully flavorful, The Fern Residency is a perfect pick. Hands down the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The place is falling apart and looks like it hasn’t seen maintenance in years. When I checked in, the flush didn’t work. The room stank, health faucets were rusted, cobwebs everywhere—it was honestly disgusting. The AC made such a loud noise it felt like a trumpet going off, and the hair dryer was just there for show. The whole vibe was dirty and neglected. Staff was nice, but that doesn’t save the place. I seriously regret booking this hotel. Don’t waste your money—there are way better options in Udaipur.

Room Experience: The room allotted to me was quite small and lacked any natural light or view, making it difficult to distinguish between day and night. Cleanliness & Amenities: Cleanliness was below expectations. The room had visible dust, the air conditioning units were unclean, and there were bed bugs present, which was deeply concerning. The television did not function despite my best efforts to operate it. Bathroom Facilities: The bathroom was not up to standard. The flush was inefficient and required multiple attempts to function properly. There was no hand shower, and the overhead shower was placed too high with extremely high water pressure, making it uncomfortable to use. Service & Communication: Prior to my visit, I had made a special request for a cake through both a personal call with the executive and via email. I was clearly assured that the cake would be provided on a complimentary basis, and was specifically told that no charges would apply. Since it was to be complimentary, I did not specify a flavour. However, to my surprise, I was charged the full amount for the cake. Additionally, the bill mentioned “black forest” cake, although the cake provided was a fruit cake. Due to time constraints during checkout, I was unable to raise the issue immediately. Breakfast : Resturant had good breakfast options.
