The Finchs Arms

I had the pleasure of staying at the Finch's Arms on a beautiful sunny day, and what a lovely experience it was. Nestled in the most quintessential English village on the shores of Rutland Water, the location is simply enchanting. My room overlooked the lake, and waking up to the morning sunshine dancing on the water was a joy. The food and drink were superb—dinner, in particular, was a thing of beauty—and the staff couldn’t have been more charming. Breakfast was just right, setting me up perfectly for a gentle walk beside the lake. With its pretty outdoor seating and peaceful setting, this place is truly charming. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Brilliant service and such a lovely atmosphere in a stunning location overlooking the reservoir. It has a great outside area and the food is marvellous and the staff very attentive. We arrived with a 1 year old baby and the team unprompted bought over things to help keep our toddler occupied while we ordered and then they served us really fast and calmly despite them being busy! Would highly recommend.

A party of 4 adults on a Friday evening we were all disappointed with our experience. Service very poor, we waited ages to order a drink, our nibbles came with our main courses (taken off the bill), the aubergine dish was very small, the promised Jersey Royal potatoes certainly were not (these were large and powdery) , the burger was not pleasant. This place used to be so good, not for us it wasn’t.
