A Truly Memorable Couple’s Getaway at Fortress Resort & Spa. Our stay at Fortress Resort & Spa was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we stepped into our ocean-view room, we were amazed — the view opened directly to the pool and then stretched out to the endless ocean. It felt like a private escape where the sea was just for us. The sound of the waves was powerful yet calming, filling the quiet surroundings with a natural rhythm that made the entire experience feel serene and intimate. It created the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway with my wife. The food was delightful, with a variety of options to enjoy together, and the service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond, always attentive and thoughtful, making us feel cared for in every way — even the smallest requests were met with warmth. This was a stay we both loved, and one that left us with lasting memories. I would highly recommend Fortress Resort & Spa to couples looking for a romantic retreat in Galle.

I recently stayed at the fortress and cannot fault one thing about our stay. The rooms are stunning, the service was 5 star, the grounds are kept immaculate. The food was beautiful, however a little more expensive than any other hotel we have stayed at in Sri Lanka. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys 5 star hotel and good quality service.

It has one of the most beautiful hotel entrances, with the sea visible as soon as the huge Fortress doors are opened. Friendly and welcoming staff, with valet parking, and smooth check in. The rooms were huge and staff came and explained the room in detail for each room. The pool is huge and is amazing. The kids loved the gradient floor of the pool, the gardens and the swings placed at different locations were very thoughtful for that overall relaxing experience. The sauna, steam room, spa were all very good. The gym was well equipped too. The food was quite good with a good variation. An area to work on would be to not have long intervals when serving the a la cart menu, as we had to sometimes wait more than 20 minutes for the food to come. When we mentioned this to them they made sure that it didn't happen on the second day, which was a great improvement. All in all, it was a great experience.
