The Frederick House Hotel

Overall nice, but rooms are very hot on sunny days and street noise is very loud. The lobby is unintuitive and not welcoming. Walking distance from lots of cool things. But if you enter with a low cut shirt (even with long pants and a jacket) and messy hair, they will talk to you like they think you’re a prostitute.

Very nice hotel in the public area,.reception staff member 'k' professional and friendly. Rooms were a let down it had the budget friendly feel to it. Some of the bedding had pen stains on which is noticeable as its white bedding. The bedding to the foldout bed was in poor condition the insert kept falling out the cover as it was split we only noticed when we made the bed in the morning. I noticed what looked like a sanitary wrapper behind my the bed so i moved bed a few inches to check and found a folded bloodstained plaster an its wrappings an a lip gloss. I told a different reception staff member who got moody the thilth was removed while we were out but they left the lip gloss an didnt move the bed back. The bathroom looks nice but doesn't appear to be very clean. Long brown hairs over the tiles by the shower and the ceiling hatch in the bathroom was really grimey it needed a wipe down. The mini fridge doesn't fit in the cupboard and has a base to be screwed down into the cupboard. This hasn't been done so u hit ur hand everytime as u cant hold the fridge properly to open the door..door opens same side as the hinges! Their is no fan offered in the room so it gets quite warm..we were on the 3rd floor..we were kept awake till 3am every night due to the 2 clubs opposite. So we had to choose between no sleep and have the window open or get extremely hot in the room. We were woken up at 6am as many deliveries turn up for the restaurants and clubs opposite. It's only a small road so their isn't much distance.

This hotel is significantly overpriced and does not meet the standards expected of a four-star establishment. The bathroom was underwhelming, and the room itself lacked character and comfort. Soundproofing is poor — I could hear guests in the neighboring rooms clearly, which made it difficult to relax. Breakfast is not served on-site, which is already inconvenient, and although it’s supposed to be included, you still have to pay extra for items like a cappuccino or anything not listed on the limited “hotel breakfast menu.” For the price being charged per night, this is unacceptable. While the service was courteous and the location convenient, overall the hotel does not offer value for money. I would not recommend it unless significant improvements are made.
