Fullerton Hotel was great. The staff was great & rooms were clean. Free breakfast that ends at 10:30am. I felt like it was advertised to be in the center of everything (like most hotels). It’s very close to the Forgotten Songs, train stations, shopping, etc. I walked to the Sydney Opera House but if you have mobility issues it may be difficult to manage that walk (not sure of the distance- it was in the metric system & I was thinking feet/miles!). I didn’t spend too much time in my room as I was off exploring. Staff was gracious to check my bag as I arrived early and bring it to my room. Beds are comfy and the hotel is gorgeous. It used to be an old post office station- I think there’s a tour but I didn’t take it. I didn’t visit the bar or get room service, room service looked a little pricier to me (usually is). They arranged a taxi service for me as well to the airport which is greatly appreciated! There are guests with kids here, but I do think this would be good for a romantic getaway
The executive suit with club access and breakfast is the only way to go. The food was absolutely amazing and had many options. The executive lounge was excellently ran by Jay and Along who were so friendly and professional and had amazing recommendations for food, drinks and places to visit. They truly made it feel like a home away from home. The hotel over all is exquisite. The history is everywhere and it is so centrally located that any thing you want to do or eat is with in a short walk. The executive suit was massive with all the amenities you would hope for with privacy and comfort for two people.
We've stayed at this hotel many times over the last 20 years. The hotel is in a great location for business and leisure in the heart of Martin Place. I've always loved this hotel but this time was a little disappointing. Some of the little luxuries have been scaled back. The fresh flowers in the foyer have disappeared, except for one mediocre arrangement. The bar closed at midnight on a Saturday night. Breakfast, while still good, wasn't anywhere near what it used to be and the rooms are looking a little bit dated and tired. The service still remains very good. Top marks there.
