The General Kyoto Takatsuji Fuyacho

We stayed here for five nights. A really wonderful hotel! We liked the fact that it was smaller as it was never crowded or hectic. Spacious room size and great bathroom. The staff are really lovely (special greetings to the gentleman with the bald head who organised breakfast in the morning! Such a nice guy! :D). The location is also very good. Close to the underground station and the touristic centre without being right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our five-night stay at this hotel last week! It was so cosy and comfortable that I even caught myself calling it “home” during the trip, haha. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile. I was especially impressed by the room’s interior design. The lighting and window blinds were top quality, and the bed was super comfy—with a duvet big enough for two people! I also really appreciated the air purifier in the room, which was a thoughtful touch for guests like me with allergies. The shower was spacious and beautifully designed as well. A special shoutout to the cleaning staff—they did a fantastic job keeping everything spotless, even above the standard of many other hotels we’ve stayed at. The location is also perfect—right in the city centre, with kimono rental shops nearby and lots of great cafés and restaurants within a five-minute walk. I’ll definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Kyoto!

Good central location. Excellent restaurants in walking distance. We used taxis to get around. 5 minutes by taxi to the Kyoto Station for excursions and the Shinkansen. Service was excellent. Breakfast was generous and served with juices and coffee. Front desk staff helped with getting around to the key sites. I highly recommend the General Kyoto Hotel.
