We ate in the restaurant yesterday at 5:30pm and it was delicious. They have an extensive gluten free offering which is well marked on the menu and they easily catered to my other food allergies without any issue. Unlike other restaurants in the area, they also had an extensive gluten free dessert offering, which is why we chose The George Hotel over other establishments. Food was well presented and delicious. Great atmosphere and clearly well regarded in the area judging how busy it was. Food was well worth the money and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. The only thing I'd recommend for change is to make it clear when entering where people need to go to be seated for the restaurant as we were stood at a packed bar for some time beyond our reservation time.

Unfortunately I only had the chance to have one beer and there were eight pumps on and seven were brand new to me. The beer I had was in excellent condition. I can't comment on the food but I was there about 5pm on a Tuesday and it was very busy with all outside seating taken but it was a lovely day. Its a lovely multi roomed immaculate pub. If you are staying at Hawkhills conference centre then don't attempt the walk across the fields. Its over an hour and I don't think the paths have been used in twenty years. There's an hourly bus service from the end of the drive but the last bus back is before 6pm. Will definitely be going back with better planning.

Very popular pub in the heart of town We were very lucky to get a table at the last minute. The restaurant was full of locals, always a good sign. The food was fantastic and enjoyed by all. Special shout out to the two fish pate starter. The only downside was the temperature. Even on a relatively cool summer evening it was very stuffy and uncomfortable. More air flow required
