The George Hotel

This is a lovely place to stay, rooms are beautifully presented,with quirky features. The menu offers something different,along side regular favourites and is well thought out,the chef is exceptional,all the meals were perfection! A good choice of vegan/ vegetarian available. All the staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. The landlord was very accommodating. Our room over looked a quaint little market square was very pretty outlook for that morning coffee. Looking forward to visiting again, highly recommend

Visited on a mid week evening. Easy to find restaurant, with some parking available in the main square opposite. Received a warm welcome upon entry, and managed to get straight to the bar. There's plenty of seating for dining, though booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. The menu has a wide variety to choose from, including vegan and vegetarian options. Somewhat overwhelming with how many options are available. If you're stuck for choice, elect the steak pie. You'll be extremely satisfied. Meals were piping hot and fresh. The pie pictured was FULL of tender meat, with chunky chips, vegetables and a side of gravy. The portion sizes were a little large for my liking and I struggled to finish it all. 2 meals, including drinks can to less than £50. Will be returning in the future to try other options as to be honest, I was spoilt for choice.

Visiting at 5pm mid week I had an excellent steak pie, lots of chunky steak pieces and thick crisp pastry. Vegetables were fresh and not over cooked and chunky chips were excellent. Service was friendly, professional and prompt. Decor is a mix of contemporary and traditional, nice cosy place to eat. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. I'd definitely recommend this pub
