The George Hotel of Stamford

Myself and my 12 year old daughter when to The George Hotel of Stamford this afternoon for a light lunch. The historic hotel had beautiful architecture in every direction, complemented by a beautifully kept Courtyard seating area. We were politely welcomed and promptly found a seat in our requested area, the lounge. A menu was quickly brought over and the service continued to be exceptional throughout our two hours in the hotel. My daughter’s “fries” were (I’m told) delicious and the staff made my daughter feel very special. My smoked salmon sandwich had extremely generous amounts of salmon in exceptionally fresh bread, with well presented salad and crisps on the plate. A very nice two hours, and not a negative point to be had. Highly recommended destination for a light lunch if you are looking for a five star experience.

Amazing value for such high quality rooms, service and food. All communal spaces are plush and stylish including the out door areas. Best to dress casually smart at the least.

We enjoyed a two night stay mid week. in part we chose the hotel because it had air-conditioning in the bedrooms. It is a lovely hotel with beautiful reception rooms and bars. Breakfast in the garden room two mornings. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Our room was very comfortable. The bathroom was great. It had heated towel rails and a heated floor.
