The George Inn and The Plaine

Stayed here for two nights with daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Lovely welcome by fabulous staff. Really helpful, pleasant and efficient. Fantastic location - lovely view over the cricket pitch and beautiful church in the distance. Rooms are lovely with everything you need and the best shower ! Food and service are excellent too! We will definitely be back! Thank you for a perfect stay !

Charlie and the kitchen team were amazing, friendly and tentative. My husband had the bass and mussels which was cooked to perfection. Good portion size and fresh and most important delicious. I had fish and chips, best batter I have ever had. Not a drop of grease in sigh, Crispy and fresh. The George in is a wonder Gem and showed of the beat of Britain. Great food, great location, authentic old world English decor and building. What a real delight!

A lovely evening meal with friends in The Boardroom. Fabulous food, perfectly cooked and presented, excellent range of wines and extensive duty of care to one of guests who is coeliac. Amazing building and grounds. We were looked after by Josh who was very helpful, informative and highly professional, he really did make our evening giving us lots of guidance on the menu. Would definitely recommend and certainly revisit.
