I visited as part of a large group, due to the size of the party and being prearranged we had a section of the pub to ourselves, however as it was a beautiful day somewhere of us chose to sit outside in the nice garden. Despite a few wasps about the garden space was lovely, with both plenty of seats, and ample shade. I had a hobgoblin IPA for myself, and there was a decent selection on tap, and something for everyone to drink. Despite being on the main road through town the garden was quiet, so it was very relaxing. Also a dog friendly pub too!

My sisters and I had a wonderful stay at The George last week. We occupied all the rooms, which were well decorated, comfortable and clean. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They also sent on an item I'd left behind quickly and free of charge. I would highly recommend staying here.

This comes up on Googlemaps as a 5 star hotel, which I don’t think it is, but I would give it 5 stars for value for money. We booked directly through the George Inn website and, with a promotion they were running, got a premium double for £99. There was plenty of space, tea and coffee, comfortable bed and decent bathroom. A bottle of water would have been a nice addition. The WiFi didn’t work in the room, only downstairs. If you want to have dinner in the village, there’s only a couple of options so you need to book in advance. We eat at the George and the servers were attentive and friendly. The food was good but the chef had tried to be inventive without adding much to the dish. Samphire doesn’t need prawns when served with fish and chips and halloumi didn't work in the frittata (carrot in bubble and squeak was unexpected). Overall we enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. All the staff were really good and we received a lovely welcome when we arrived. The pub was popular with a nice atmosphere. Overall a great place for an overnight stay.
