The George

I was in town for work and sought out a weekend refuge. The George was that and then some. The room itself was really nicely laid out. Modern, spacious, clean, and the temperature stayed EXACTLY what I set it to the entire time. The amenities are hard to beat— sweets, snacks, pop, and a complimentary breakfast. It’s so close to everything in Montclair. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and made me feel like I was staying at a place filled with good people. I watched other guests’ eyes light up as they walked through the foyer. I may not ever come to Montclair again, but if I do I know exactly where I’ll be booking a room.

It is a lovely Bed and Breakfast rehabbed by Bobbi Brown and her husband. Each room is different. The decor matches the name of the room; ours was Henry and all pictures were of a famous Henry. Breakfast features an organic cold buffet with lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagels and other breads and cheese . Afternoon wine and treats are a nice touch. The candy closet makes it difficult to dust! The same is true of the freezer full of ice cream treats. The staff is extremely helpful.

Great boutique hotel. I stayed for a week while I was working in NJ. The room was very clean and quiet. The only downside is the wifi. It was so bad that watching tv was difficult. If that is very important to you, let them know and maybe some rooms are better equipped. The breakfast is fantastic and very well done. I will absolutely be staying at The George every time I come into NJ.
