The Glengower

Booked for lunch on a v warm Saturday. (Did not stay in the hotel). Lovely location overlooking sea. Fab food - varied menu. I enjoyed a classic fish & chips (my son chose the large meal and it was enormous). Very good service, lovely staff. Clean, great decor. Will definitely visit again.

We weren't staying at the hotel, we had dinner in the restaurant. Really excellent place to go for dinner and drinks. Proper pub feel but with a bistro style menu. Lovely friendly staff, efficient service. Dog friendly, even providing a well needed water bowl. Food was very good, I had the lamb and my Partner had the burger. We also treated ourselves to a bottle of champers and it was reasonably priced. Great view of the ocean (as the pub is right on the waterfront). Would recommend you book for large parties but for smaller groups walk in's were possible.

Waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for food to arrive with a reserved 11 person party. After waiting for that extremely long time, my truffle Mac and cheese was not good, and had no flavor. The meals that my party had were good, (the leek soup was delicious) but receiving a 2/10 dish after waiting for nearly two hours overrides that for me. One of the servers noticed that I didn’t enjoy it and asked me about it, which I really appreciated. My brownie at the end was good, but tasted like it came out of a box. I’m sure this place is great on a good day, but, for £20 a dish, going on a bad day should not result in such an unhappy experience.
