The Golden Pheasant

We’ve just spent 4 days here and it was definitely one of the best places we’ve stayed in this country. From check-in to leaving, the staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. On arrival the assistant manager Kev, helped my husband with our luggage as I’d recently had a hip operation and was unable to carry bags upstairs. All of the staff were lovely taking time to chat while doing their job and offering suggestions as to places we may want to visit during our stay. Even when the restaurant was very busy one evening, they continued to provide a great service with a smile. It felt as if nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent too, lots of choice and always well cooked & presented. We will definitely return and use as a stopover if travelling further south as being so close to the motorway it is in an ideal location. Thank you to all for making our break so enjoyable.

Bar and restaurant are lovely. Food is excellent pub grub. Breakfast was also very good. Bar and restaurant area are very nice but bedrooms, although very clean and comfortable, are tired. Apparently we were told there are plans to rectify this. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and friendly. They had a wonderful ‘can do’ attitude which is sadly lacking in a lot of other places. All in all, a very good stay.

Met up with friends last Thursday for lunch at the Golden Pheasant! Good atmosphere, lovely friendly yet professional staff. Food was delicious on hot plates and well presented. Obviously this manager has managed to get superb staff in the kitchen and front of house. So they definitely work well together...... Happy staff very happy customers.....thanks everyone...... Great location for us to meet up so we will definitely be back
