We had an excellent experience at The Grand Dragon Ladakh. The location is ideal, offering stunning views and easy access to the main market. Our room was spacious and clean, with all the modern amenities we needed for a comfortable stay at this altitude, including great heating. The hospitality truly sets this place apart; the entire staff was friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a smooth trip. We especially enjoyed the lavish buffet breakfast and dinner. While everything was fantastic, a slightly later check-out would have been a bonus. Overall, it's a top-notch hotel and a great base for exploring Ladakh
"An unforgettable dining experience!" I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Grand dragon Hotel and it was nothing short of delightful. They offered a serene and elegant setting — with soft lighting, tasteful décor, and soothing music that made the experience even more enjoyable. We had our Family Dinner there . The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. They were quick to respond to our needs and even gave great recommendations from the menu. One of the highlights was the chef’s special food — a melt-in-the-mouth treat that left us craving more. It’s rare to find a place that offers both exceptional food and genuine hospitality. I would highly recommend The Grand Dragon Ladakh to anyone looking for a memorable culinary experience.
We recently stayed at the Grand Dragon Hotel and found the experience to be a mix of positives and disappointments. The Good: The rooms were neat, clean, and well-maintained — definitely up to expectations. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast spread: a good variety with excellent service that made mornings pleasant and enjoyable. The Not-So-Good: However, there were several areas that left us underwhelmed. Although the hotel had clearly communicated the ₹2600/night charge for an extra bed at check-in, it was surprising that no bed was actually placed for the third person in the room until we followed up. This felt like a basic miss in hospitality. The "high tea" offering was quite disappointing. It consisted of just tea and a few cookies — far from what one would expect under the label "high tea," especially at a premium property. Another letdown was the view from the room, which didn’t match what was shown in the promotional photos. Additionally, we had requested a paid upgrade to a luxury room with a balcony. Despite a vacant room being available right next to ours, we were told there was no availability. That response felt disingenuous and diminished the overall guest experience. Overall: While the hotel delivers well on cleanliness and breakfast service, there are gaps in guest service, transparency, and value for money that need attention. Would recommend with reservations, depending on your expectations.
