The Grant Arms Hotel

Just popped in for evening meal with my wife. Both had roast beef dinner. Pictures on website do not do it justice. Full sirloin of beef toasties and assortment of veggies. Absolutely fantastic. I had tablet sundae for pud and my wife had raspberry rullard, both fantastic. Coffee and shortbread after. All included in price. If you get the chance, book a table and give it a go, it's great. We were not staying at hotel, just went for meal.

Me and my wife went there just to try some whiskys and had a life changing experience. Cosy environment, confortable seats and the bartender,Gavin, was an absolute whisky nerd that taught us everything we needed to know about whisky and more. He was patience and lovely to us, talking to us with such enthusiasm about whisky that it was impossible not to be hooked! It was not only a touristy tasting since there where locals and regulars there who also apreciated Gavin's presence and the selection of whiskys he had built in the place. Couldn't be any better, I really wished everyone that visited Scotland got to know about this place and Gavin's work.

We had lunch here (as part of a road trip). The food, when it arrived was good but we had to wait over 40 minutes for 4 paninis and a bowl of chips (pot of tea was well cold by the time the food arrived).
