Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had everything you needed.. The room temperature works very well ....However, due to the age of the hotel, some of the modern amenities lack. Their hair dryer only plugs into the bathroom and nowhere else. Tough to share the bathroom with your loved one when she's blow drying her hair. Elevator at checkout time can take ages. AND my number one thing with any hotel is to have coffee in the room ....which it doesn't. For the price I would recommend staying here
The only advantage of this hotel is their location. It is in the heart of Manhattan and near the times square and fifth Avenue. But the price is quite high for what they offer. We had a huge headache in our check in. It was the only hotel from 6 differente places that we stayed that did not accept my credit card. Their system is terrible and the person from the front desk is not trained to provide you alternatives or be helpful. She was rude and not friendly. Besides it, the service room was not that good, we needed to request the replacement of bathroom amenities several times, the room did not have TV control and they did not add the bottle of waters every day. No breakfast is included. The bathroom was small and tight and the shower took 15 minutes to heat up, a lot of water waste. We were in a room at the second floor.
Room was spacious, clean, and as advertised. The building has character, though the hallways and staircase are narrow and smell like cigarettes—likely due to its age. The real issue was the service. Beware of the poor service and watch your statements for unauthorized charges. Unfortunately, the front desk staff, Jasmine, ruined the experience. From the moment we checked in, her treatment toward us and other guests was unprofessional and unwelcoming. She confirmed only city tax would be charged, but I later found unexpected charges on my card. She never sent me an invoice even though I specifically requested it at checkout. When I called to clarify the charges, she refused to connect me to management and told me to contact Expedia instead. It was only resolved after I raised my voice. No apology, no accountability—just poor service from start to finish. I will not be returning and have already alerted my bank in case I need to dispute the extra charges.
