The Griffin Inn

Beautiful building in a beautiful location. We popped in for an impromptu dinner a few weeks ago, having recently moved locally. Staff were lovely, really friendly and happy to chat. The owner came round to ask everyone how they had found their evening, which was a nice touch. He clearly genuinely cares. Food was excellent. We both had the lamb cutlets, the flavour was fantastic and presented beautifully. If we were being super picky, it was perhaps very slightly underdone for some tastes, but this wasn’t an issue for us and wouldn’t stop me recommending the dish wholeheartedly. The scallop starter was also excellent, and my wife really enjoyed the pate. Very welcome to see a non alcoholic lager on draught, particularly as I was driving that evening! So much better than a bottle. The wine list looked well thought out too, varied range of varietals, at different price points for all budgets, ranging from light to full bodied. We didn’t use the garden, but it’s a great big space, perfect for kids to play in whilst you enjoy a drink in the sun, I’m sure! We will certainly be back soon!

Excellent food. Exciting seasonal choices. You cannot go wrong with this place. If you are anywhere near this pub I would suggest you do yourself a favour and eat here. You won’t regret it. We go back time and time again.

Had pre-mothers day lunch with my parents. Fabulous building, decor atmosphere, setting and food was delicious. They had fish and chips which was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection and I opted for bangers and mash, which again was fantastic. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend this for value for money, great place to visit and it has lovely bed rooms and extra dining rooms too. We'll definitely return ASAP.
